Terms of Use

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

This website is operated by Cavalli Models Africa Limited (“Cavalli”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company incorporated in Uganda on 8 May 2017 (registration number 80020000231816) and based in Kampala, Uganda. Cavalli provides Talent management, recruitment and creative partnership services.

These terms govern your use of cavallimodelsafrica.com and the pages, forms and content on it (the “Website”). By using the Website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Website. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of how you should read these terms.

2. Information only

The Website describes what Cavalli does and how to work with us. Nothing on it is an offer of employment, a guarantee of representation, a promise of work or income, or professional, legal or financial advice. We try to keep the Website accurate and current but may change, suspend or remove pages, opportunities or services at any time without notice.

3. Using the Website

You may use the Website for lawful purposes only. You must not:

  • give false, misleading or someone else’s information, or pretend to be another person or organisation;
  • send anything unlawful, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory or that infringes another person’s rights;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the Website, its servers or any connected system, or probe, scan or test its security without our written permission;
  • introduce malware, overload the Website, or interfere with how it works for others;
  • copy or collect Website content, Talent profiles or contact details in bulk using automated tools (scraping), or use them to build a database, directory or marketing list, without our written permission.

We may restrict or block access, and report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities, where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

4. Talent applications

  • Applying is free. Cavalli does not charge a fee to apply or to be considered. Please be cautious of anyone who asks for payment in Cavalli’s name, and tell us at le***@*****************ca.com.
  • No guarantee. An application does not guarantee selection, representation, training, a booking, employment or income. We assess applications against our own criteria and may decline or defer any application without giving a reason.
  • Accuracy. You must give accurate and complete information and only submit photographs, videos and links that you own or are allowed to share. You are responsible for what you submit.
  • Age. Applicants under 18 must have the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. We may ask for proof of consent or identity before going further.
  • Separate paid services. Any training or development programme that Cavalli offers for a fee is separate from the free application process, is described when it is offered, and is never a condition of being considered.
  • Application platform. The application form is provided through Cavalli’s application platform at login.cavallimodelsafrica.com. That platform displays its own terms and privacy information, which apply to your application in addition to these terms. If they conflict about an application, the platform’s terms apply to that application.

5. Brand and client enquiries

Brands, agencies and other clients may send a project brief or enquiry. Sending a brief does not confirm a booking and does not create a contract. Talent availability, fees, deliverables, image and content usage rights, payment terms and any other project terms must be agreed in writing with Cavalli. We aim to respond to enquiries within 48 hours but a response is not an acceptance of the project.

6. Talent directory and profiles

Where the Website shows Talent profiles, they are published with the Talent’s consent. Profile information, photographs and availability can change and are not a guarantee that a person is available or suitable for a given project. Shortlisting a person on the Website is only a way to prepare an enquiry; it does not reserve that person. We may update or remove any profile at any time, and a Talent may ask us to do so.

7. Written agreements come first

Where Cavalli and a Talent, client or partner sign an agreement, that agreement governs their relationship. Information on the Website does not replace or change a signed agreement.

8. Intellectual property

The Website’s text, design, logos, branding, photographs and other original material belong to Cavalli or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view the Website and print or share a page for personal or ordinary business reference. You may not copy, adapt, republish, sell or commercially reuse its content without our written permission, except where the law allows. Talent, client and third-party materials remain the property of their owners and are used under licence or permission. Nothing on the Website transfers any intellectual property right to you.

9. Material you send us

When you send us a brief, message or other material, you confirm you have the right to do so. You keep your rights in it. You allow us to use it to read, assess and respond to you, to carry out any services you ask for, and to keep reasonable records. We will not publish your application material or photographs on the Website or social media without your separate permission.

10. Illustrative imagery

Some Website images and illustrations are for atmosphere. They do not necessarily show Talent represented by Cavalli or projects Cavalli has completed. Where we name Talent, clients or campaigns, we do so with permission.

11. Links to other services

The Website links to third-party services such as social media platforms and messaging apps (for example WhatsApp), and may link to our application platform. Those services are not under our control. Their own terms and privacy notices apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

12. No warranty

The Website is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from harmful components, or that its content will always be complete or current.

13. Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Cavalli is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Website, or from relying on its content, including indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, income, profit or data. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement.

14. Suspension

We may suspend or end your access to the Website, or decline an application or enquiry, if you break these terms or if we need to do so to protect people, systems or the law.

15. Privacy

We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and the data protection laws that apply to us, including the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page with its effective date. If you keep using the Website after a change, you accept the updated terms. If a change is significant for people who have applied or enquired, we will take reasonable steps to tell them.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute about the Website are governed by the laws of Uganda. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it in good faith. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction, without removing any mandatory consumer or data protection right you may have in the country where you live.

18. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else; we may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of our business. These terms are written in English, and the English version prevails over any translation.
